Overview

Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, now the Leh District in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh is a region of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir that lies between the Kunlun mountain range in the north and the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. Ladakh with the area of 95,000 square kilometers has one of the lowest population densities in the world, with 2 inhabitants per square kilometer. An old Ladakhi saying: The passes are so high and land so barren; only a dear friend or a serious enemy will reach here.

This land for the longest time, has been known for its beauty. One can opt for various routes and means to explore Leh- Ladakh. The best way to explore this terrain is by driving through Manali to Leh. Manali to Leh – once restricted route, is now one of the most exciting drive which takes you across high Himalayan passes. This gives one the perfect chance to witness the mountains, culture, forests and adventure of the region. Those who want to reach Leh directly can fly from Delhi, only to land in Leh and start exploring. Once at Leh, one can understand the culture by visiting monasteries and monks. For photographers, the brilliant landscapes give the perfect photographic opportunities.

  • Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival Leh. 

    Arrival at Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome drink take a complete rest for acclimatization to the altitude of Leh (3500 meters). In the late afternoon, drive to the city for an orientation walk in the markets‚ followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

    Day 02:  Leh - Excursion To Sham Valley

    After breakfast you drive downstream along the river Indus on Leh – Kargil Highway and start the sightseeing with Hall of Fame (Museum Constructed by Indian Army) near Leh, which is worth a visit for every Indian. Then proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib at an altitude of 3600 mtrs., about 22 kms. from Leh. This Gurudwara was constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji nestled deep in the Himalayas. A drive of another 4 km will take you to the Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. As you move ahead from Magnetic Hill, just before Nimmu village, there comes a famous confluence of two rivers - Indus coming from Tibet (left) and Zanskar river coming from Zanskar Valley (right). Later we drive back to Leh. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.

    Day 3: Leh - Nubra via Khardungla Pass.

    Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World's Highest Motorable road (5359 mts.) known as Khardungla Pass. Arrive at Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (on your own). Later if time permits, visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries and check in at Deluxe Camp. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the camp.

    Day 4: Nubra – Pangong Lake via Shyok route

    After breakfast, proceed for Pangong Lake. Once again driving a beautiful landscape via Shyok route to Tangste and Durbuk village on the way. Explore the Lake.

    Day 5: Pangong Lake – Leh via Changla pass

    After breakfast, travel back to Leh. Enroute take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea, and on the way visit Thiksey monastery. Check in at the hotel and rest for a while and then visit Leh market in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.

    Day 6: Transfer to Leh Airport

    What is included in the tour

    1.  Accommodations:

      03 nights stay in Leh hotel on MAP BASIS.

      01 night stay in Nubra valley on MAP BASIS.

      01 night stay in Pangong lake on MAP BASIS.

    2. Meals on MAP BASIS.
    3. Transportation by Non AC Innova/ Xylo / Tempo traveller / Scorpio / departure transfers,  pick up / drop.
    4. All permits.
    5. Inner line permit (I.L.P) & etc.

    What is NOT included in the tour

    • Airfares.
    • Clothing of personal nature like trek shoes, kit bags, day packs, sleeping bags, down jackets and other special clothing etc.
    • Medical expenses (apart from first aid) and insurance of any kind.
    • Tips, laundry, liquors, wines, mineral water, telephone charges and items of personal nature.
    • Transportation is not on disposal basis. It is strictly as per the program, any extra running will be charged extra.
    • All the arrangements for trip as pre-planned and prepaid. In case of not completion of the tour due to any reason whatsoever there will not be any refund for any unutilized services. Any extra expense due to the same has to be paid extra.
    • Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
    • Any other item not mentioned in the cost include section.
