Itinerary

Day 1: Shimla to Janglik (2,800 m/9,200 ft; 160 km, 9-10 hr):

  • Depart Shimla early and wind through terraced farms and pine valleys.
  • Arrive in Janglik, stroll among traditional wooden homes and fruit orchards.
  • Settle into your guesthouse, enjoy a hearty mountain-style dinner and rest.

Day 2: Janglik to Dayara Thatch (3,400 m/11,150 ft; 6-7 km, 5-6 hr):

  • Camp on lush grass under a canopy of stars and crisp alpine air.
  • Climb steadily into high meadows where grazing horses roam beneath snow-capped peaks.
  • Trek through oak, maple and pine forests, crossing bubbling streams.

Day 3: Dayara Thatch to Litham (3,600 m/11,800 ft; 4-5 km, 3-4 hr):

  • Follow a gentle ridge offering panoramic views of the jagged Dhauladhar Range.
  • Pass shepherd huts and colorful wildflowers en route to Litham valley.
  • Pitch camp at the confluence of two valleys, serenaded by cascading waterfalls.

Day 4: Acclimatization & Chandranahan Lake (4,023 m/13,200 ft; 6 km RT, 6-7 hr):

  • Enjoy a relaxed morning at Litham before trekking to the sacred, year-round frozen lake.
  • Marvel at the glacial basin believed to be created by the gods and alpine blooms around its shores.
  • Return to camp.

Day 5: Litham to Dhunda (4,000 m/13,100 ft; 4-5 km, 4-5 hr):

  • Cross open meadows and narrow ridges with sweeping mountain vistas.
  • Arrive at Dhunda, a high-altitude meadow campsite overlooking distant snow-clad summits.
  • Unwind with a golden-hour walk to catch the sunset.

Day 6: Dhunda to Munirang via Buran Ghati Pass (4,550 m/15,000 ft pass; 8 km, 10-11 hr):

  • Tackle steep snow and ice ramps on the technical ascent to Buran Pass.
  • Enjoy a thrilling descent alongside roaring streams down to the Munirang river camp (3,400 m).
  • Celebrate the day’s achievement at the camp.

Day 7: Munirang to Barua & drive to Shimla (2,300 m/7,700 ft; 5-6 km, 2-3 hr):

  • Trek downhill through the ancient village of Barua, admiring traditional architecture and orchards.
  • Board a vehicle back to Shimla, reflecting on seven days of alpine wonders and cultural encounters.

  • Accommodation: Twin/Triple sharing (guest house and tents).
  • Meals: Dinner on Day 1 to Breakfast on Day 7 (Vegetarian Meals with Egg)

  • Camping and Dining Equipment and cutlery. (Sleeping Bags, Tents, Sleeping Mats, Camping stools, Dinning tent, Toilet tent with commode chair)
  • Certified English Speaking Trek Lead.
  • Support staff (Guide, Cook, Helper and Mule staff)
  • Forest entry charges for Indian nationals. For non-Indian passport holders, there will be an additional charge.

  • Cost of sightseeing or river rafting.
  • Cost arising due to unforeseen incidents like bad weather, medical evacuation, road blocks, civil unrest, etc.
  • Porter/Mule charges to carry personal luggage. It can be arranged at an additional cost of INR 450 per day (1 soft bag per person < 12 kg).
