Launching from the remote village of Janglik, the Buran Ghati Trek bursts through whispering birch, oak and pine forests - spills into the emerald expanse of Dayara Meadows where grazing horses and snow-capped peaks frame every step - skirts the sacred, year-round frozen Chandranahan Lake believed to have been breathed into being by the gods - presses on toward the ice-clad ramparts of Buran Pass, an exhilarating technical ascent that may end in a rappel down a frozen wall until June - pauses in ancient hamlets like Barua with fruit-laden orchards and time-worn wooden architecture - and uncovers fresh spectacles at each valley confluence, from the soaring Litham campsite with cascading waterfalls to the dramatic ridges of the Dhauladhar Range. This moderate-meets-demanding Himalayan odyssey weaves culture, adrenaline and ever-changing landscapes into one perfect alpine adventure.
