Overview

Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi or the Land of Gods, is home to several temples and hosts lakhs of devotees every year. The Chardham Yatra is one of the most popular pilgrimage tours in our country which includes visit to the 4 ancient shrines - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. It is believed that one should complete the Chardham Yatra in clockwise direction. Hence, the tour starts from Yamunotri then Gangotri, and then we proceed towards Kedarnath, and finally it ends at Badrinath.

The Yamunotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri is dedicated to Goddess Ganga, the most sacred of all the rivers in India. Kedarnath is the holy abode of Lord Shiva, which is located in Rudraprayag district and Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
