Overview

The Deo Tibba Base Camp Trek begins in Jagatsukh, near Manali, and this thrilling 5–6 day expedition propels intrepid trekkers through dense pine, maple and deodar forests to the vivid meadows of Chikka and the former glacial basin of Seri. From there, you’ll press on to Tainta (4,170 m), the base camp offering awe-inspiring views of Deo Tibba (6,001 m), nearby Indrasan, and the glaciers feeding the Jagatsukh Nala. Covering roughly 55–60 km with 5–7 hours of walking each day, this moderate, non-technical route weaves river crossings, rocky moraines, and high-altitude terrain—ideal for trekkers with some experience or well-prepared beginners. Unlike the more crowded treks in Himachal, this journey remains wonderfully secluded, letting you soak in peaceful solitude and the region’s spiritual heritage: locals call Deo Tibba the “Hill of Gods,” believing deities once held court on its slopes. With stable weather and clear skies from May–June through September–October, it’s a captivating blend of adventure, culture, and pristine mountain beauty.
