Out on the northwest rim of the Gangotri Valley, a jagged spine of peaks—Mukta, Siyari, Dayara, Surya, and Gidara—stands guard between two worlds. Below them, dense deodar forests cloak the slopes; above, each summit slices into the sky, daring you to chase its ridge line.
Nestled beneath these lofty sentinels lie endless emerald meadows—Dayara and Gidara Bugyals. Dayara is a well-trodden emerald carpet that shimmers with wildflowers every summer. Push farther north, though, and you’ll stumble into Gidara: a vast, secret sea of grass so pristine it feels like you’ve stepped into another realm.
Traverse the ancient shepherd’s path linking these bugyals and you’ll taste real adventure—wide-open skies, wild panoramas, and the thrill of discovering a hidden slice of the Himalayas that few have ever seen.
- Trek along a serrated ridge under Mukta, Siyari, Dayara, Surya, and Gidara Tops—each step feels like edging closer to the heavens.
- Lose yourself in Gidara Bugyal’s expanse of emerald grass, where the silence is broken only by the distant cry of Himalayan birds.
- Follow an age-old shepherds’ trail connecting two alpine seas—Dayara’s flower-strewn carpet and Gidara’s pristine vastness.
- Stand on a high pasture at dawn to watch the Gangotri peaks ignite in golden light—a moment that makes every uphill stride worthwhile.
