Tirthan Valley Trek is a trail to God. The word “Tirthan” comes from “Tirath” which means sacred place. This is a spiritually and culturally rich and also one of the most beautiful valleys of our country. Tirthan Valley is situated in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. This Valley is the entry point to the Great Himalayan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley is known for its dense forests and alpine meadows. The Tirthan Valley trek begins from Gushini which is home to the Tirthan River. You can witness crystal-clear river flowing gently alongside this trek. It is an easy trek as all the ascends and descends on the trek are smooth. The trails are also well-marked and have photogenic landscapes. One can spot various unique flora and fauna during this trek.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Acclimatization in Shimla.

• Arrive in Shimla and complete check-in.
• Spend the day resting, hydrating, and taking short walks in & around Shimla. Visit Mall Road in the evening.
• Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2: Drive from Gushaini to Mashyar and Trek to Asurbag campsite (12,470 ft) via Bedi Thatch | Drive: 16 km in 30 min. Trek Distance: 15 km in 9 - 10 hrs.

Day 3: Asurbag to Khukhri (12,467 ft) via Bagoda Dhunga | Trek Distance: 12 KM in 8 - 9 hrs.

Day 4: Khukhri to Tirath (12,140 ft) | Trek Distance: 5 km in 2 - 3 hrs.

Day 5: Tirath to Saketi (14,107 ft); and Trek to Shankha Thach ( 11,483 ft) | Trek Distance: 18 KM in 9 - 10 hrs.

Day 6: Shankha Thach to Gushaini via Holla Thach (12,467 ft) | Trek Distance: 20 KM in 10 - 11 hrs.

Day 7: Drive back to Shimla from Gushaini. Drive Distance: 195 Kms in 6-7 hrs.

What is included in the tour

  • Transport support from Gushaini to Gushaini.
  • Experienced trek leader, trek guide, and cook charges
  • Camping equipments like tents, sleeping bags, microspikes, gaiters, ice axe etc.
  • Forest permits and entry fees
  • All vegetarian meals from Day 2 Lunch to Day 7 Breakfast
  • Accommodation in a guest house/home stay on a double/triple sharing basis.

What is NOT included in the tour

  • Transportation to reach up to Gushaini village. (Can be arranged at an additional cost)
  • One night stay in a hotel in Shimla on double/triple sharing basis. (Can be arranged at an additional cost)
  • Porter/Mule charges to carry personal luggage [Can be arranged at an additional cost of approx. INR 400 per bag per day (Weighing up to 12kg)]
  • Medical expenses (apart from first aid).
  • Any kind of shopping, mineral water, optional sight-seeing, and any other expenses of personal nature.
  • Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
  • Clothing of personal nature like trek shoes, kit bags, day packs, down jackets, and other special clothing etc. (You can rent out from us)
