The Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek is a popular trekking route located in the Garhwal region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, within the Himalayas. This trek offers breathtaking views of lush green meadows, dense forests, snow-capped peaks, and pristine alpine lakes, making it a favorite among trekkers and nature enthusiasts. Bedni Bugyal is one of the largest alpine meadows in Asia, Bedni Bugyal is known for its lush greenery and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. Ali Bugyal is another picturesque meadow located at a higher altitude than Bedni Bugyal, offering equally breathtaking views and serene surroundings.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Pune to Delhi to Rishikesh

  • Reporting at Pune Airport. Aboard the flight to Delhi.
  • Reach New Delhi Airport and proceed towards Rishikesh by AC bus.
  • Reach Rishikesh by evening and check in at hotel.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 - Rishikesh to Lohajung

  •  270 KM drive in 9 to 10 hours
  • We start our road journey from Rishikesh early morning towards Lohajung which passes through breath-taking and stunningly beautiful winding roads .
  • An interesting Stop enroute is to witness the divine confluence of Alakhnanda and Bhagirathi rivers merging to become the Holy Ganga.
  • The Pristine Crystal-like Aqua hues of the two rivers are quite distinct to identify. 
  • Overnight stay in Homestay/Guest House.

Day 3 - Lohajung to Didna Village

  • Trek Distance - 6 KM in 4-5 Hours
  • After a sumptuous morning breakfast we head towards the first camping destination Didna. The trail is moderately difficult but passes through some interesting terrain.
  • Surrounded by oak trees, we will have a Steep climb in some patches. We reach Didna by Lunch.
  • We camp at Didna tonight.

Day 4 - Didna to Khobal Tal via Ali Bugyal

  • Trek Distance - 10 KM in 7-8 Hours
  • After a hearty breakfast at the campground start trek towards Ali Bugyal.
  • The trek today will be through stunning village of Ali Bugyal
  • We camp at Ali Bugyal.

Day 5 - Khobal Tal to Ghairoli Patal

  • Trek Distance - 7 KM in 4-5 Hours
  • Today you will pass through the second half of the Bugyal, Bedni meadows. 
  • The meadows are stupendously green with stunning Himalayan  views of surrounding peaks of Mt.Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
  • We stay at Ghairoli Patal for camping in the night.

Day 6 - Ghairoli Patal to Lohajung

  • Trek Distance - 7 KM in 5-6 Hours
  • The last hiking day of the wonderful trek is finally here. You will be retracing steps back to Lohajung.
  • Once you arrive in Lohajung, you may refresh up at the guesthouse. 
  • Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Homestay at Lohajung. 

Day 7: Lohajung to Rishikesh

  • Drive Distance - 210 KM drive in 8 to 9 hours
  • Today will mark the conclusion of your fantastic journey as we get you to Rishikesh. 
  • Reach Rishikesh by early evening. You can go for Rishikesh sightseeing.
  • Overnight stay in Hotel at Rishikesh.

Day 8 - Time to Say Good Bye and cherish unforgettable memories of trek. 

  • Departure for Delhi by AC bus from Rishikesh.
  • Reach Delhi by 01.00 pm. After that transfer to New Delhi Airport.
  • Aboard the flight back to Pune with unforgettable memories of trek.
  • Trek Ends.

Inclusions/Exclusions

What is included in the tour

  • Transportation from Delhi to Delhi.
  • Stay is included from Day 1 to Day 7 (Rishikesh to Rishikesh). You will be staying in a hotel/guest house at the base camp. The rest of the days will be camping when on the trek.
  • Vegetarian meals along the trek route from the Lohajung to Lohajung.
  • Sleeping bag, mattress, tents, kitchen tent, toilet tent, utensils and crampon (if required).
  • Professional Trek Leaders, guide, cook and support staff.
  • All trekking permits and forest camping charges are included.
  • First aid medical kit.

What is NOT included in the tour

  • Charges for air / train travel up to and from Delhi.
  • Personal luggage with mass not exceeding 12 kg per bag per person can be carried by porters/mules @ Rs 400 per day per bag.
  • Meals during transit from Pune to Lohajung (base camp) and back.
  • Optional / Add on / Extra activity charges.
  • Medical expenses (apart from first aid).
  • Any kind of shopping, mineral water, optional sight-seeing, and any other expenses of personal nature.
  • Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
  • Clothing of personal nature like trek shoes, kit bags, day packs, down jackets and other special clothing etc. (You can rent out from us)
  • Any other item not mentioned in the cost include section.

Things to carry

Essential items to pack for a successful trekking adventure

Gear : 

▪ Trekking Backpack with raincover (40 – 55 L). 
▪ Day pack / Summit Pack (15-20 Ltrs) (Required when you offload bag)
▪ Good quality waterproof trekking shoes 
▪ Trekking pole (optional)
▪ LED Torch with extra set of cells (head lamps preferable).
▪ Poncho or raincoat (if it rains)
▪Tiffin Box (For Pack lunch) 

What to Wear :
▪ Trekking Pants - 2 to 3 
▪ 3 Full/Half sleeve T – shirts.
▪ 2 full sleeve sweaters. A fleece jacket would be an alternative. 
▪ A full sleeve thick jacket or down feather jacket.
▪ 4 pairs of undergarments.
▪ 1 pair of good quality thermal inners.
▪ 3 pairs of sports socks. 2 pairs of woolen socks.
▪ Woolen monkey cap and balaclava that cover the ear.
▪ Buff
▪ Woolen hand gloves + synthetic glove (water proof). If you don’t have synthetic gloves, get two pairs of woolen gloves.
▪ A woolen head-scarf or muffler.

▪ Light towel (should be thin, quick drying kind).
▪ Lip balm, Cold cream and sun screen lotion (SPF 40+).
▪ Minimum 1 Water bottle (1 L ). The insulated water bottles are required to store hot water(optional). 
▪ Sun glasses
▪ Personal toilet kit (minimal) and toilet paper.
▪ Personal Medicines if any.
