Kalyangad Fort, also known as Nandgiri Fort, is a historically significant hill fort located near Satara in Maharashtra. Situated at an altitude of around 3,500 feet in the Sahyadri mountain ranges, this fort is known for its strategic location, stunning views of the surrounding valleys, and ancient rock-cut caves. It once played an important role during the Maratha era and served as a military outpost.
The trek to Kalyangad is relatively easy to moderate, making it a good option for beginners and history enthusiasts alike. The path to the top is well-marked and passes through a scenic route filled with lush greenery, especially during the monsoon season.
