Overview

The Prabalgad Trek is a scenic and moderately challenging adventure that takes you to a majestic hill Fort nestled on the Western Ghats. Situated on a plateau between Matheran and Panvel, this Fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding Sahyadri range, including the neighbouring Kalavantin Durg, which sits like a pinnacle adjacent to Prabalgad.

The trek starts from Thakurwadi village, with a well-marked trail winding through lush forests, rocky patches, and gradual inclines. During the monsoon, the route transforms into a vibrant green paradise with flowing streams and misty surroundings. At the top, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Matheran, Irshalgad, Karnala Fort, and the Prabalmachi Plateau, a camping hotspot nestled below the peaks.
