Purandar Fort, located in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra near Saswad in Pune District, is a historically significant hill fort situated at an elevation of about 4,472 feet (1,363 meters) above sea level. This fort lies approximately 50 km from Pune and is a popular trekking destination known for it's scenic landscapes, historical relevance, and panoramic views.
The fort is best known as the birthplace of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It played a crucial role during the Maratha Empire and was strategically important in resisting Mughal invasions. The Treaty of Purandar (1665) between Shivaji Maharaj and Jai Singh of the Mughal Empire was signed here.

Panoramic Views: Offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Sahyadri hills, valleys, and nearby forts like Vajragad, Sinhagad, Rajgad, Torna, Rohida, etc.
- Report at Hotel Kalpana near Saras Baug, Pune at 5:30 am sharp.
- Leave for Purandar Fort at 6:00 am.
- Have breakfast on the way & reach base village by 9:00 am. Short briefing by the Trek Leader.
- Start the trek towards Purandar Fort at around 9:15 am.
- Reach at the top of the Fort by 10:45 am.
- Explore the Fort and have lunch on the Fort.
- Start descending towards base village by 12:30 pm.
- Reach base village approximately by 1:30 pm.
- Start return journey towards Pune at around 1:45 pm.
- On the way, we will halt for Tea and snacks.
- We will be back to Pune approximately by 5:00 pm. (depending on traffic conditions)
- Trek ends.
