Overview

Dayara Bugyal is a high-altitude meadow situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. The Dayara meadows are known for their beauty and the lush green meadows turn into a sprawling snow ground during the winter months. Views of Gangotri range rewards the trekkers and peaks such as Srikantha (6,133 m), Jaonli (6,632 m) & Draupadi ka Danda are visible. On the route we go through amazing Oak forests. While descending from Dayara towards Barsu, we come across Barnala Meadows with Barnala Tal, a small lake with beautiful views of snow caped peaks in the background.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Dehradun to Raithal

  • 7:00 AM: Report near Dehradun railway station at Prince Chowk and meet your trekking group.
  • Drive towards Raithal village.
  • Raithal village is the base camp for the Dayara Bugyal trek which is 32km from Uttarkashi.
  • We will be passing through Mussoorie, Chamba, and Uttarkashi.
  • There will be an Overnight stay at Raithal in a Homestay or Guest House.

Day 2 – Raithal - Gui

  • After early breakfast, we begin our trek. Raithal to Upper Raithal is a quick hike of simply 1 km which may be effortlessly performed in much less than an hour. It is a perfect campsite to mark the start of the trek with beautiful views of Mt. Shrikanth, Mt. Jaunli & Mt. Draupadi ka Danda.
  • Moving ahead you’ll witness a stunning forest full of flora and fauna. A 4 km step by step ascending course from Upper Raithal ends in shepherd huts at Gui, an old-fashioned little hamlet instantly out of a mythical world.
  • Overnight Camp (Tent Stay)

Day 3 - Gui - Dayara Bugyal - Gui

  • Wake up at sunrise to witness the spectacular beauty of Dayara Bugyal. Starting from Chillpada to Dayara Bugyal.
  • Dayara bugyal is one of the most beautiful meadows in India. it’s Vast and pristine offers different landscapes in different season.
  • On this day, we can explore the nearby Gidara Bugyal and walk on the ridge connecting Dayara to Assi Ganga valley. The Banderpunch massif, Mt Gangotri, Draupadi ka Danda, the Black peak can be seen clearly from here. We trek back to our camp.

Day 4 - Gui - Raithal - Dehradun

  • Today, after having breakfast, we will trek downhill back to Raithal and board the vehicles to leave for Dehradun.
  • Travelling through the Himalayan roads will be a mesmerizing experience for you.
  • After enjoying the journey, we will arrive back in Dehradun at night around 8 p.m.
  • You can plan your further travel accordingly.

Few Important Tips:

  • Dress in layers: Carry at least 3 layers at the trek.  Weather is quite unpredictable so we need to keep ourselves warm. Keep it simple, but warm enough. Pack your backpack as per provided Trek essential list.
  • Thermos Flask (1ltr) is very important on winter trek as water in normal bottle freezes due to severe temperature.
  • Do not carry any precious items like jewellery at the trek. Mountainfit Team will not be responsible for loss of damage of such items.
  • Carry extra plastic bags for wet clothes/garbage/etc. “DO NOT LITTER THE TRAIL, KEEP IT CLEAN”
  • Drone and satellite phone is not allowed so please don’t bring any
Important Notes

To ensure you're well prepared, we will be with you throughout your preparations, all the way till your trek/trip date.

Before all that, here are 3 important steps for you to follow:

  •  Book flexible flight tickets for your trek: When you're going for a trek, there are many uncertainties -- weather, snow, govt. orders, forest permits -- many things can go wrong. Even though this happens only in 1% of our treks, it's best to have flights that can be rescheduled.
  • Bus Ticket Reservations: If you plan to book Delhi to Dehradun to Delhi bus tickets, please contact our office at least 7 days prior to your departure date. Keep in mind that ticket availability is subject to change, so book early to secure your travel.

  • Early Arrival Suggestion: We strongly advise all participants to reach the trek starting point 1 day prior to the trek's scheduled departure (Day 0). This will allow you to rest and acclimate, ensuring you are well-prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Accommodation Booking: If you require accommodation either before or after the trek, please get in touch with our office. We can assist you in making bookings at suitable accommodations to enhance your overall experience.

Carry original copies with you on trek and submit them to your trek leader.

  • Share your ID card to your trek/trip leader after booking is done. In order for us to obtain permissions for your trek/trip, we need your ID card. Ensure you share those within the next three days.
