Raireshwar Fort is famous for the temple where Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj took the oath for Swarajya. It is said that he cut his little finger and took the oath by dripping blood on Shivling inside the temple. Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ at Shri Raireshwar temple. The temple is very old and of stone structure, but it was later re-constructed in the 18th century. The temple is on a plateau, which has many beautiful flowers during monsoon, the best time to visit this place. Kenjalgad Fort is located near Ghera Kenjal Village in Bhor Taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra. This fort is eleven miles (18 km) north-west of Wai. The fort is visible from quite a long distance as a stone scarp 30–40 feet high rising as a cap on the irregular hill. Kokandiva Fort is on the boundary of Raigad and Pune district. The Fort was used as a surveillance Fort to keep an eye on the possible attack on the Raigad Fort through Ghol village alongside Mutha river. There is a cave and a few rock-cut water cisterns on the fort. From the top of this fort, one can see Fort Raigad towards South, Lingana towards South-East, and Fort Torna towards East. The two popular routes to the Fort are a walk from the village of Ghol and a climb up the Kawlya Ghat from the nearby Bawlya-Kawlya villages. read more read less

Thanale Caves or Nadsur Caves is a group of 23 Buddhist Caves. These caves belong to first century B.C. These caves are some of the most ancient rock-cut caves not only in Maharashtra but in all India and were located at a complex site of the ancient trade route of Chaul. The earliest caves were probably excavated between 70 and 50 BC, according to paleographic evidence. Cave No 7 is the most beautiful and largest among all caves in the group. Naneghat, also known as Nanacha Angtha (Nana’s Thumb),is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats near Junnar in Pune District of Maharashtra. Literally, the name Nane means “coin” and Ghat means “pass”.
